Cartography and monitoring work in relation to the native flora and fauna
Y.K. was staff member of the non-governmental foundation Oeko-Fonds and now works for the Nature Park Upper-Sûre (Naturpark Öewersauer) in Luxembourg. He is co-ordinating different projects about nature conservation, particularly the management of rare habitats, such as rock outcrops, dry grasslands, woodland ponds, ... He is involved in some projects about water- and river-protection and does some education work.
During field investigation some remarkable plant species were discovered. So, for example, a second location of Ophrys apiferaHuds. subsp.bicolorNaeg. [19.6.1999, Y. Krippel] was found, a very rare sub-species of the Bee Orchid. O. a. subsp. bicolor was first recorded for Luxembourg in 1975 by J. Lahr and A. Steinmetz [Reichling, L., 1981. - Trente années d'observations floristiques au Luxembourg 1949-1979. - Bull. Soc. Nat. luxemb., 83-84: 75-95].
